Dancing bears

Paisley likes to sing to the bears on her mobile while its moving and playing. It's quite cute.

A favorite

Another oldie... the picture.. not the subject. From the August long weekend.... that's a LONG time ago in Paisley's life.

Happy 2008!

I thought it was time to revisit some of my old posts.

The first post of the year, I declared my goals for the year. My goal was to produce 365 cards, a card a day. Well, my current running total is 155/365. Not quite on target, but I imagine once I get christmas cards going, and such, I will make my goal.

In other news...... I am giving up this computer (the iMac). :) It's going to be solely Josh's computer now, and will be moved back into the living room. But this is exciting.... as my new MacBook should be arriving anytime!!! My iBook died back in October, so it will be nice to have the freedom to have my computer in various locations.... especially with Paisley around. :) Although I love the iMac, it was initially purchased as a work station for Josh, and well.... I don't think he's used it, because I'm always on it!

More pictures coming! I promise. I know that's all you guys are here for.....

Beautiful Quilt

This is the beautiful rag quilt that Grandma Yeomans (my mom) made for Paisley. It's adorable, and so snuggly!

Poor Kitties

IMG_7056, originally uploaded by tyeoca.

Well we've had the baby gate up on the stairs leading up from the living room for a while now, just to keep the bedroom floors cat-free (allows us to leave the doors open). Well a couple weeks ago, I moved the gate to the stairs leading down from the living room (making the living room floor also cat-free). It's great in many ways, but I feel bad for the cats. Don't they look sad?

They look sad, but they actually rarely sit at the gate like that. IN fact, I put up the gate, because they weren't using the living room since I had moved the pet bed to the basement.

I do miss cuddling the cats, as I don't get to cuddle them much anymore (always have Paisley on me). I try to pet and cuddle them during her naps, but always have to change afterwards, as I have a slight suspicion that Paisley may be allergic to cats.

But they haven't starred in a post in a while, so I thought I'd post a new pic of them. :) Hopefully I'll get a better one of them soon.

New Project - September

So I'm excited about my September project. This is a sneak peak. Top secret til I'm finished. Isn't this fabric fab?

Rowing Challenge - come join!

As many of you know, I was once on the U of A rowing team (one year, novice crew). I loved it, and was in the best shape of my life then. I got into rowing, because my dad had bought a Concept 2 rowing machine in the months prior to me going to University. Rowing is a great low impact exercise, that is great for strengthening your knees, back and overall body. It is also a great cardio workout. While at U of A, I introduced Josh (my now husband) to the rowing machine. He loved the workout it gave him! We now own our own machine (since my dad decided to upgrade to a newer model). We plan to start a challenge in September for anyone who is interested. We have a wide variety of entrants so far, with differing fitness levels, some who have been using the rowing machine already, and those who are just about to learn how to use it.

SO if you're interested in joining us, we'd love it! There will be a prize in the end. We are still hashing out some of the details, but thought I would give everyone a heads up. If you might even be slightly interested, I recommend going to your local gym and trying out a concept 2 rowing machine (if you've never used one, get someone at the gym to show you the proper technique.... or you will be tired LONG before you should be on it). Try it out, see what you think, and let us know if it'd be something you'd be interested in.

So far we have the following entrants:

Josh - just starting to get back into it, *low-moderate fitness level
Myself - haven't rowed in 2-3 years, but want to start a fitness routine (what better way than competition) *low fitness level
Bryant (my dad) - used to row regularly, but hasn't rowed in many months *moderate fitness level

We also have a couple of Josh's coworkers interested in trying out the rowing machine, and would like to join, just to have a commitment to jumpstart regular workouts.

Are you interested getting back in shape? Need a challenge, some accountability to do so? Come join us! Doesn't matter if you've never been on a rowing machine in your life, it's a great way to strengthen without impacting your joints. For me, it was a great part of strengthening my knee after my accident as well as post surgery. For my dad, it has relieved and helped with the pains in his hips. Also great for strengthening the lower back, if you find yourself if a sore back frequently. It's a great workout! Try it!

If you don't know where there is a Concept 2 Rowing Machine in your area, let me know, I'll help you track one down!

PRIZES for the top competers! Everyone's got a chance to win, no matter what the fitness level, or how much time you have available. You just have to have an interest, and a little competitiveness.

More details to come. Josh will be setting up a website that will track the results, and have info on it.

Website delays- but excitement.

While I don't have my card site up fully yet, I do have another site/store you are welcome to visit.

So there are 2 sites currently, but in a little bit more time, they will integrate together!

1. Barefoot Tams Etsy:

This site I upload cards to (as well as other items), and these items can be purchased on there. IF you've never explored Etsy before, watch out, it's addicting! But it's a great site, that allows people who hand craft items to sell them, and also provides place for people to look and buy for handcrafted items. The reason for using this site, is that there is already a built in monetary function, that is safe, secure, and reliable. This saves A LOT of work(as well as risking security issues) in building that into the Barefoot Creations website. Please come by my etsy store frequently, as I will keep uploading new items... and they won't all be cards. I have a few other plans for items up my sleeves. I'm very excited about this, but don't want to spoil it quite yet.

2. Barefoot Creations:

We are still working on my Barefoot Creations site, but once it's fully set up, it will integrate with the Etsy site. The Barfoot Creations site will be my primary website, and etsy is just the retail part of it. I am just starting to post all my cards/invites on Barefoot Creations while I make them. I'm working on that if you click the image on Barefoot Creations, it takes you to the same card on Etsy, where it can be purchased. The BLOG part of Barefoot Creations I will post EVERY paper craft I make, but in the DESIGNS section, will be the ones that are for sale. There is also an area on this site for CUSTOMcreations... which would include wedding invitations, announcements and anything people want created for them. So there will be a gallery of samples and past custom orders there. Although this site isn't quite set up how I fully want it, I have uploaded some images, and plan to get this all done within a week or two, since I'm already past my Aug 1st launch date.

I'm quite excited.... and plan to upload weekly... so keep an eye on them. I love feedback too. So please send me messages, or comment on the Barefoot Blog as well.

More Christmas cards are in the works. I had said I'd start taking Christmas orders on the 15th, and it's now the 21st, and i only have a couple Christmas designs done. But that is changing, as I have several more almost ready to post.

Enjoy, and I'd love some feedback. Also, if you know someone getting married, or who wants some cards done........ you know what to do ;)

Yay Air Conditioner!

I'm so opposed to Air Conditioners..... well I used to be. Since pregnancy I seem to overheat. I was told I would go back to normal after she was born. Not so much. I'm cooking! It is 32 degrees in our house, and it's almost midnight. Since the temperature dropped outside, we've had fans on and windows open, but it's still 32 in here (was 34 earlier). I think we're all getting a little cranky tonight.

But tomorrow..... we're buying an air conditioner! We found one we liked, and the salesperson told us to wait til Monday, because they are having their friends and families sale. :) So now hopefully,we won't get so cranky hot! Although, we'll be good and set the tolerable window quite large... maybe up to 27 degrees. That's manageable, I think. Guess I should consult with Josh though on that.

Paisley finally went down at 11:30 tonight. SHe's been going down around 9 most nights, so tonight felt like a very long night, as we were both hot, but she wanted to be held. Off to bed, with the 2 fans on. Tomorrow's supposed to be stupidly hot as well.

Sadly, this is global warming, and we're just adding to it with getting an air conditioner. :( But we'll be good and efficient with it. One air conditioner..... we currently have 6 fans on in the house..... wonder which is more efficient.

Nursery Rhymes with Grandma

Over the long weekend, Grandma Yeomans was singing Paisley Nursery Rhymes. I bet at the next visit, she'll be pounding on the piano herself!

Hanging out at the campsite!

On the long weekend, we also visited our good friends Bob and Melanie Melnyk at their campsite at Martha Creek. Paisley was a little fussy that evening, but calmed down for Melanie.

Paisley's First Hotel

First time in a hotel. Pais was too wide awake to sleep. It was on the August long weekend in Canmore. She got to sleep in the big bed with Mommy.

More!

Exersaucer fun!

IMG_7037, originally uploaded by tyeoca.

Busy busy

So, we're starting to get nagged to put more pictures up.... and sadly this post won't have pictures.

Paisley had her 2 month check up on Monday. She weighed in at 11 lbs 8 oz, and was 23 inches long. Her head measured 15 inches. At her 1 month appointment she was still on the 95 percentile curve, but she has now dropped to the 75 percentile curve. But all her development is great! The doctor has no concerns.

Today marks Paisley's 2 months! Time flies. So today was her 2 month immunizations. She did very well. She shrieked and cried when they were administering the needle, but was smiling at the nurse about a minute later. So proud of her! Such a tough little girl!

The last couple weeks, Pais hasn't liked the swing. So today, I'm putting it away. We bought her a new toy! An exersaucer! We tried every single one of them at both used baby stores in town, and there was a clear winner. :) Also turned out to be the cheapest. We will take pictures of her in it soon!

Ok. thats enough one handed typing. Pictures coming soon!

Hot Tub Party

Paisley took a quick dip in the hot tub tonight with Mom and Grandma and Grandpa Yeomans.
