You may ask why

You may wonder why with pictures I post only one per post, it's because that's what's easiest for me. Josh does multiples, but I use the "blog this" function in Flickr. It's fast and easier for me than all the steps it takes navigate into the picture, click a few things, then copy and paste between webpages. :) That's why you get like 10 posts in a day from me.

And you may find this hard to believe... but we only post a FRACTION of the pictures we take. Yeah, we take a lot of pictures of Paisley. On the plus side, I'll have lots to choose from as I do her scrapbook.

Nothing like food to make this girl happy. Make shift high chair at Great Grandma's, she loves to sit at the table with everyone!

Great Grandma actually was quite eager to hold her. I think Paisley got to sit with her 3 times, and Grandma really enjoyed it.

Better than M&M's

Josh says my meatloaf is better than M&M's. I even liked it, and I'm not a big fan of beef.

Here's the recipe:

2 lb. (900 g) lean ground beef
1 pkg. (120 g) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Chicken
1 cup water
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup KRAFT Original BarBQ Sauce, divided
PREHEAT oven to 375°F. Mix all ingredients except 1/4 cup of the barbecue sauce.

SHAPE meat mixture into oval loaf in 13x9-inch baking dish; top with remaining 1/4 cup barbecue sauce.

BAKE 1 hour or until cooked through (160ºF).

I used more BBQ sauce... and it was Hickory flavoured. I didn't measure... just squirted it in, and then on top. I also made it in a loaf pan.

42 Days til Christmas!

Well with 42 days to go, I'm looking at my looming pile of gifts I need to finish, and thinking I really should get busy!

:) I'm very excited to get some of these projects done. Also thinking I will try to get my tree up this week. I just have to decide where I want to put it.

We just got back from the Vancouver area yesterday. We flew down on Friday morning, and flew out on Monday night. We got to see a good majority of my extended family, so Paisley got to meet A LOT of aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as Great Grandma Yeomans. We will post pictures later today.

But I'm off to get a few things done while Paisley naps.

Another guitar photo shoot

My friend Brian was looking for some photos with his new guitar, so we went out for a photo shoot on Tuesday morning before work. I'm pretty happy with the results from this one, and I'm starting to feel more and more comfortable with my off-camera lighting set-up.

Here are a few picks from the shoot:

I've got a few more shoots lined-up to do Christmas card photos for some of our friends, so I'm getting plenty of opportunities to learn more about this craft. Needless to say, I'm loving the results I'm getting with the new camera (I knew all along I was meant to be shooting Nikon!).

Tasty looking recipe

Most people know how much i LOVE watermelon. Came across this recipe while looking through some christmas gift ideas on a site, and had to save it for future making (next summer?)

Watermelon Jelly
* 4 cups seeded, diced watermelon
* 3 1/2 cups sugar
* 2 tbsp. lemon juice
* 1/2 of a 6-ounce pkg. liquid fruit pectin

Preparation:
Place diced watermelon in a blender container or food processor bowl. Cover and blend or process until smooth - you should have 2 cups watermelon puree. In a 6- to 8-quart kettle or Dutch oven combine the watermelon puree, sugar and lemon juice. Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil (a boil that cannot be stirred down) over high heat, stirring constantly with a long-handled wooden spoon. Stir in the pectin all at once. Return mixture to a full rolling boil; boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove kettle or Dutch oven from heat; skim of foam. Ladle jelly into clean hot half-pint jars, leaving 1/4-inch head space. Wipe jar rims; adjust lids. Allow to cool completely away from drafts, then store in cool, dark place. Makes 4 half-pints.

Looks tasty!

First snow fall

Paisley saw her first snow today! She thought it was neat.... then looked up and got it on her face.... which shocked her. But then she was happy again.

Playing with a friend

paisley-2, originally uploaded by Joshua Schroeder.

Paisley had a play date today..... well, actually I did. Amanda came over to work on some cards, and brought Joel. Both of them had a really long nap (over 2 hours), but played together before and after the nap. Aren't they adorable! :) I love Joel's sweater! They were poking and grabbing at each other, and just completely fascinated with each other.

Did you notice?

Did you notice in the bath pictures all the drips on the edge of the tub. Yes... she loves to splash.

Her next bath will officially be in the big tub, I got her a mat, to keep her from slipping. She sat up with no wobbles for almost 30 minutes straight today... so I think she's ready for it.

Oh, and I just convinced Josh to upload some pictures..... so more pictures tonight!

I Won!!

So I'm very excited. I've been reading the blog over at SewSensible for quite a while now, and love the clothes Aimee has designed for girls. Anyway, she held a contest this week for people to win 4 of her patterns of their choice. AND I WON! :)

Here's the patterns I selected:

I look forward to trying these patterns out in the new year!

Check out Aimee's website and blog at : Sew Sensible

Project Updates

Well I just realized I need to get the finished picture of October's project on here. I'll get on that this afternoon!! The next sneak peak will be for November and December, but the finished product won't be revealed until post Christmas.... as they'll all be Christmas gifts! So you'll have to hang tight.

In other news, I finally got my Christmas card designs done for this year. I will post a link to them tomorrow, I have a couple more ideas floating around in my head that I want to experiment with first.

Off to the craft room!

And finally smiling for mommy!

She's really outgrowing her tub. She won't sit back in it anymore..... likes to sit up. And she drenches the bathroom. I think we'll be switching her to the big tub in the next couple weeks, since she's sitting up so well now.

Trying to hide from mommy

Flames fire pit

My Dad has been working on a fun project lately that I wanted to share. His brother was looking for a fire pit to use out on his acreage, so Dad set to work and created this unique Calgary Flames fire pit.

The main part of the pit is part of a steel pressure vessel with the legs and swivel arm welded on to it. Attached to the swivel arm is the grill and the cover which has the Flames' emblem cut away from it. Beneath the fire pit is a removable tray to easily remove ashes. The entire thing has been painted with silver heat resistant paint.

Being entirely made of steel, this pit is very heavy. Unfortunately I haven't yet seen it with a fire burning in it, but I can imagine it will be spectacular with a fire burning beneath that flaming C.
