Saturday Slice - Birds

A little late today because of traveling. In honour of spring, we're doing a Birds theme! They're so hip right now.

This cute card set is made by Lindy, a fellow Alberta Team member. You HAVE to check out her other cards, so adorable!

Cutie Patootie

JDS_4274.JPG

I finally had Paisley model some of my items tonight. She wouldn't stay though. SHe just kept coming up to me. So this is what some of the shots looked like. That dress sure makes her eyes shine though.

Too big, too small

JDS_4093.JPG

Children's clothing is so funny. This is an outfit that my mom bought for Paisley. It's Mexx and sized 12-18 months. And it doesn't remotely fit her. Meanwhile, she seems to fit most size 12's right now... and still fits some 6 month, and 18 month (with rolled up legs and sleeves 18 month). I thought it was interesting, since she has another piece of Mexx clothing that was 6-9 month, and she couldn't fit it past 6/7 months.

This one was just too big, even with rolling. Oh well.. it'll be great for the fall :)

I went through the clothes of hers that were in the guest room closet (larger sizes) and pulled out everything that was 18 month or smaller for her (left about 3 or 4 outfits behind). Now that I'm finally taking all the 6 month, and 6-12 month (some of it), out of her closet.

In other news, Paisley now has 4 teeth. Yes, it was a long hiatus (she got her first two at about 4 months old). The top two have now broken through this week. She was first to get teeth of her friends, but they quickly all got more than her. Joel has now even started cutting molars!! I think Amanda said he was getting his 8th tooth right now. Crazy considering his due date was only 2 weeks before Paisley's.

Yesterday Paisley turned 10 months old~ :) 2 more months til her birthday! I need to get busy on those invitations.

Sleepy Head

Paisley loves her naps. She has 2 naps every day. They usually are about 2 hours.... but can go for 3 (and even 4 hours once this week). But more often than not, I plan for a 2 hour nap, and need to go wake her up so we can head out the door.

Yesterday was one of those days in which I needed to wake her. We went swimming in the morning, then back home and straight to bed.

I went in after 2 hours to get her up for a play date... and she just didn't want to wake up. I went in and talked to her, called her name... just a grunt and a roll and back to sleep.

So I grabbed the camera:

Sound asleep:

And finally "I'M AWAKE... GET ME OUT OF HERE!"

She had some crazy hair yesterday! After the pool she still had wet hair while she laid down with her bottle, allowing me to get dressed.

One of my favorites

I think this is one of my favorite pictures of Paisley. I was just flipping through them, and it made me smile.

Wow... 5 am, and I'm really up. I'll let this post go out early ;) I miss having a baby that sleeps through the night. All her sickness has thrown her off. Hopefully she's back to sleeping well again soon.

Sick

Sorry for the lack of updates. We've been pretty sick this weekend. I will have some posts coming this week, as I am feeling better.

But for today I'll leave you with this link:

Cadbury Cream Egg Filled Chocolate Cupcakes

Makes me want to go buy some Cadbury eggs and give them a try :). We didn't have any chocolate this year for Easter. Since Paisley's too young, and I'm working at losing some weight (Lost 3.1% this last 2 weeks).

More updates coming tomorrow.

Still here

We're still here, but haven't had time to blog the last few days. It's been nice out, and we've been out and about a lot.

Josh has been super busy at work with a deadline. Spent all of Good Friday at the office, and will be again today. He's also been going to work for 6 am every day this last week, and working evenings til the wee hours of the morning. Hopefully after this project launches on Wednesday, he'll get some time to relax a little.

Gorgeous Weather

We've had temperatures in the high teens the last couple days (actually yesterday it hit 20), so we've been out walking the last 3 days, and playing at the park. Yesterday we went for a visit at Heather's (and Molly's). After chatting for a while, we took advantage of the nice weather and took the girls to the park. :)

I've been playing with Josh's camera this last week, so I had it along, and took some pictures of them.

It was a fun day! But I can't neglect grocery shopping another day... so that is what is on tomorrow's agenda (and possibly another walk).

Project of the Month - Complete

This month's project was Chalkboard Placemats. One side is a vinyl print that is easily wiped down, while the other side is a chalkboard, including a slot to keep a chalk. The entire mat rolls up so that it can easily be stowed in a diaper bag or purse, ready for your next restaurant visit, or appointment with you little tykes. Also great for keeping youngsters busy in places where there are no toys readily available (visiting family, church, etc). These particular ones are already spoken for, but I hope to make some more in the near future to sell.

Joel's 1!

Well yesterday we attended Joel's 1st birthday party. :)

He was so handsome:

Paisley wore a dress that my mom had passed on to me (my sister and myself both wore it, I believe):

I designed a new applique (which I hope to sell, but still need to work it out a little more). Made it for Joel, along with a matching card.

uh oh

Here's a video clip of the early Uh Ohs. She's a pro now. Something drops she says it. You hear me say it twice before her, but after that, it's all her.

We still have cats!!

Yes, although very rarely mentioned, we do have cats. One of the few words that Paisley both says and associates with the object. Just recently we started letting them in the living room again (since we now have a second gate). So they've been cuddly, and Paisley has been trying to learn how to move slow and be gentle with them. She's getting it! Oakley (grey one) lets her pet him all the time... but is a little nervous at the same time. Teemo (the orange one) avoids her.

Cats

Paisley's vocabulary includes:
Dad,
Mom,
Cat,
Up,
Uh-Oh,
Hi,
and can sing "Barbara Ann" by the Beach Boys (no... seriously!).

The only words that are ALWAYS in appropriate reference are: Up, Uh-Oh and Cat.

We have 4 people that also swear that she said "Team Canada" when we were talking about her hockey jersey collection.

And also.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSH! Shhh.. he doesn't want anyone to know ;).

Projects of the Month

Every month I have a "Project of the Month." This is a feature in which I have planned a project that I have never made before. At the beginning of the month I post the supplies, and then at the end of the month (or if I finish early) I post the finished project. I never tell what the finished product will be, until I post the final picture (but I always like to hear your guesses as to what you think it is. If you're right, I will let you know that!).

My project this month:
